Business: Useful websites

 Company websites are either:

• Customer-facing, aimed at consumers, focusing on their products and on promoting their services. They might also sell their services or products on this website.
• Corporate, here you might find mission statements, Corporate Social Responsibility Statements, Annual Reports, Quarterly Statements, press releases … Corporate websites are aimed at other businesses, the media, investors and shareholders.

Most corporate websites are linked from the customer-facing pages, look for a link that says ‘Corp Info’ or ‘Investor relations’.

Annual Reports websites: 

It is always worth getting a second opinion. What are other people saying about the company?  It is often different from what they are saying about themselves.

There are two databases that are particularly good at presenting analysis on companies, Business Source Complete and ABI/Inform Complete. Both have company information form various sources: academic journals, popular magazines, newspapers and trade journals.
